Problem:

After receiving a new license code from RJS, now the ASP/400 software no longer works correctly. The RJS File Attributes test program returns a -4 error return code. The OpenFile method from the AS400File object is returning a -97 return code.

Solution:

The ASP configuration needs to be run and the host entry must be deleted and re-added. This will cause a new 30-day license key to be automatically regenerated after the new license key was entered into the system.

Note: The IIS Web Server must also be restarted after entering the new ASP/400 configuration entry. This can be done using the following methods:

  • Run the "Run HandleEX" program from the ASP/400 program group and kill the "INETINFO.EXE" process. Then manually restart the web publishing service via the Windows NT/2000 service manager.
  • Or simply reboot the Windows NT/2000 server and run a test script to make sure everything is working correctly.
