Problem:

Bad file name or number error and WinSpool/400 Email Report Server is exiting with an error

Solution:

We checked the email report server log and there was an "out of memory" error noted. I had the customer check the disk space and the disk was full. They are using Lotus Notes and I told them to make sure to empty the "sent mail" basket in Notes on a regular basis. That probably caused the server hard disk to fill up.
