Problem:
User continuously gets CPU not authorized error, even though the access code is correct. If using TCP/IP, they also get the error unable to start FTP conversation.
Solution:
After exploring various problems with the Email Report Server, it turns out it was a problem with the TCP/IP and FTP connection from the PC to the AS/400. It appears that if the user has troubles with TCP/IP or their password expiring, the TCP/IP pip to the AS/400 goes into never never land, but the Email Report Server still thinks it is active.
The fix is two fold. First totally shutdown the Email Report Server PC and restart the Email Report Server. Be sure to verify the Email Report Server user profile is enabled on the AS/400. If this does not take care of the problem. Then option #2 is to shutdown the Email Report Server and the Email Report Server PC, shutdown TCP/IP on the AS/400, restart TCP/IP and FTP on the AS/400, and then start the Email Report Server PC and the Email Report Server.
Also, have the user rekey the TCP/IP address, user ID and password in the Edit System Table. It is possible the user may have inadvertently hit the ENTER key to advance to the next field during the entry rather than the TAB key. Verify they do not hit the ENTER key.
If the user is using the NetSoft Router have them verify the user ID and password are correct in the "Edit System List" entry.
Also, make sure to check whether the user has Limited Capabilities *YES set on their user profile. This can also cause a problem. The user profile should have Limited Capabilities set to *NO.
