Installation
When installing FaxPress Email gateway exclusively for use by RJSFAX, please note these revisions to the Castelle documentation.
In all other circumstances, please refer to Castelle's documentation & Castelle's installation support team.
1. Create user
Create a local administrator (EMAILGATE) with password (GATEEMAIL) and log into the computer as this user.
2. Install the services:
Start > Run > Type 'cmd'
At the control window, use the 'cd' command to go to C:\Program Files\Castelle\FaxPress\Email Gateway (or the install directory, if different)
Inside Email Gateway should be emailgate.exe and noticegate.exe: run these two commands
emailgate -i noticegate -i
Right-click on My Computer > Manage > Services and check for these two services:
FaxPress Inbound Email Gateway FaxPress Outbound Email Gateway
Right-click and for each service, set the log on user as the user you created in step 1.
Start both services.
Reboot the machine, and email gateway should now be active.
3. Troubleshooting
There are a couple tools that are useful.
First, opening the temp directory and watching it as you conduct tests will help you determine where things are failing; if you are sending a test from RJSFAX, and a pdf file arrives in the Email Gateway temp directory, but is never faxed, then the problem is somewhere between the Email Gateway and Faxmain.
Secondly, in the C:\Program Files\Castelle\Email Gateway is a text log file named EmailTrace. If things are working on the iSeries side, then this file is invaluable for troubleshooting the Castelle side.
