Converting Reports to PDF Format with Win2PDF Print Driver for Spooling to AS/400 output queue after Reform Processing
From Support
The WinSpool Electronic Forms Print Server can use a new alternative PDF print writer called Win2PDF for re-spooling PDF documents to an AS/400 output queue for archival or delivery via email.
The following steps can be used with the Electronic Forms Print Server V1.0.14 and above to convert an electronic forms to PDF format and re-spool to the AS/400 for distribution processing.
1.) Install the Win2PDF Printer Driver from the following web site: http://www.daneprairie.com/
Win2PDF Download Link: http://dl.filekicker.com/send/file/131463-3v12/w2pdf_setup.exe
2.) After the Win2PDF Print Driver has been created, set up the driver to print to a "local port" named C:\WSPEFORM\WSPEFORM.AMU. This file is the temporary work file used by WinSpool Electronic Forms.
- Note: The C:\WSPEFORM\WSPEFORM.AMU name is critical to the PDF option working correctly with the Reform Spooler.
3.) In the Reform Designer, set up the Reform page settings for the selected Reform Electronic Form overlay to print to the new Win2PDF printer driver.
- Note: Each form overlay that will be sent back to an AS/400 output queue must have the printer set to this same printer name.
After making the page settings changes, save the form overlay file to preserve the new page settings.
4.) Exit and restart the Reform Spooler or stop the spooler and refresh the form list to load the new overlay settings.
- Note: This must be done or the new form settings will not get picked up.
5.) In the "Edit Print Output Directory List" screen, set the output type to "PDF". If left blank, the output type will default to "PDF".
- Note: This must be done or the print server will not set the correct PDF output extension in the "User Defined Data" for the new AS/400 spool file when it's created.
