Error 0002 when sending SMTP emails

Problem:
The Email Report Server could not resolve the SMTP Server TCP/IP address or host name for the outbound SMTP mail server.

Solution:
Make sure the TCP/IP address or host name can be PINGed from the AS/400 command line using the AS/400 PING command.
If using a TCP/IP address and the TCP/IP address continues to fail, create a Host Table entry for the system and use that instead of the TCP/IP address. (GO CFGTCP, Option 10)
If using the Host Name still doesn't work, use the AS/400 TELNET command with Port 25 to see if you can connect to the outbound SMTP server. If TELNET doesn't work, you most likely have some sort of SMTP mail server connectivity problem.
