Problem:

Apparently nothing has changed on the customer AS/400 system, but any time they download reports from the AS/400 with the WinSpool/400 Email Report Server it works just fine for the first report. Any download after the first report causes an FTP 22040 error to occur. The customer is running Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6.

Here's what we tested 1.) We did multiple report downloads with WinSpool/400 and it worked fine, so I don't think it's the download API. 2.) Did the same test with the Batch Report Server and it worked fine. 3.) Ran the Email Report Server and it died with the 22040 after the first report. Wierd !!

Solution:

The resolution is even wierder. We went in to the Email Report Server "File Settings" screen and disabled the "Use In-Process TCP/IP ActiveX DLL".
