Error 3043 accessing database stored on Windows 2000 Server

Problem:

User is getting Error 53 at Trace Point 4400 running Batch Report Server storing their Database(s) on a Windows2000 (Server). Getting errors while accessing either the Wspbch32.mdb or Wspindex.mdb. Another symptom can be a corrupted Wspindex database.

Solution:

They are running a service on another Windows2000 Server called Active Directory which searches the network for other Windows2000 Servers which will scan the hard drives to create an index of network based entities, such as applications, files, printers and people. While this scanning is being performed on the Server storing the databases it can cause accessability problems causing the Batch Report Server to error.

NOTE: We do not know much about the Active Directory service at this time as to how it can be configured, the only solution at this point is to disable the Active Directory scanning service.
