Problem:
This is an additional problem we discovered starting with WinSpool/400 95/NT V2.32 and beyond. In some cases, a user may have a version of the TABCTL32.OCX which appears to be newer than the version we distribute, but is actually an older version.
Example: In one situation, the customer had version 5.00.3714 of the TABCTL32.OCX and the file date was 10/7/97. The version of TABCTL32.OCX that we're shipping is 5.01.4319, and the file date is 7/19/97. Even though the customer had an older version of the OCX, the file date was newer than the version we were shipping, so the user was getting the 50003 error.
Solution:
After researching the problem, this error appears to be caused by a Microsoft OLE DLL which is not correctly being registered on the User's PC. The DLL is shipped as part of Microsoft's Visual Basic 5.0 Service Pack 2.0.
The offending DLL's are listed below:
OLEAUT32.DLL Date: 5/19/97 Size: 492304 OLEPRO32.DLL Date: 5/19/97 Size: 114960
Resolution To resolve the problem, the files listed above must be manually registered on the user PC's with the REGSVR32.EXE command line program. If DLL registration is successful, REGSVR32.EXE will return a message box with a successful completion message.
If a copy of REGSVR32.EXE is not found on the user PC, the program and the above listed DLL's can be downloaded directly from the following Web address: http://www.rjssoft.com/FILES/olesp2.exe This is a case sensitive URL address, so key it as shown.
After registering the OLE DLL's, the WinSpool/400 95/NT software should work as expected.
