Error Found When Printing to LPT1

Problem:

User just installed the Adobe PDF Writer and they get the following error when trying to print to the Adobe PDF Writer.

"There was an error found when printing document "xxx" to LPT1. Do you want to retry or cancel the job?"

This message appears on the Windows 2000 computer's printer folder each and every time a document is printed with PDF Writer.

There doesn't really appear to have been a real error since the PDF file actually gets created.

Solution:

Apparently The PDF Writer will generate the error above because it requires that one's parallel port be enabled in one's PC bios.

The LPT1 port should be enabled in the PC bios, or if the PC does not have a printer port, one should be added even if not used.

This parallel port issue seems to affect Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and probably Windows XP users as well.
