Licensing RJS Software Systems PC Products

Many of the PC products that RJS Software Systems releases will grant users an automatic 30-day trial period. During this period of time, you will have access to the full functionality of the product.

Once the trial period has expired, the product will no longer function. Instead, the product will notify the user that they must contact RJS Software Systems to obtain an Authorization Code before they may resume use of the product. The licensing dialog will display two value:

  • Code Entry Number
  • Computer ID Number

Here is an example for the RJS Electronic Forms Merge Engine:

RJS Software Systems will both of these values before a new Authorization Code may be generated. Once these values are obtained, you may contact RJS RJS Technical Support.

If you have purchased a site license for a product, or if you have available licenses, RJS Software Systems will be able to generate an Authorization Code for your product. However, if you will be exceding the limit of available licenses, RJS Software Systems will require that you complete a Change Out Request Form.

How To Find The Code Entry/Computer ID Numbers?

The Code Entry Number and Computer ID Numbers can be found one of two ways:

Product Demo Period Has Expired

If your product demo period has expired you will see one is two issues arise:

  • 1. The product will no longer launch. Instead, it will display an "Unlock" dialog similar to the image above.
  • 2. If the product is a secondary product called through a different product, such as the WinSpool/400 PDF Report Converter is called from the WinSpool/400 Email Report Server, you begin to see an "Error -92" message appear in your log files. If you launch the secondary product, you will receive an "Unlock" dialog similar to the image above.

In either situation, you will need to obtain an Authorization Code before you may continue using the product.

Locating The Licensing Dialog When The Product Has Not Expired

Each RJS Software Systems PC product that requires an Authorization Code includes a "License" option in the Start menu. Locate the product's program folder and select the entry that marked as License to launch the "Unlock" dialog similar to the image seen above. See the image below for an example of finding the licensing dialog for the RJS Electronic Forms Merge Engine.

NOTE: Depending upon the product bundle that you purchased from RJS Software Systems, there will occasionally be more than one product that will require an Authorization Code. Notice in the image below that an Authorization Code may be needed for the RJS Electronic Forms Merge Engine and the Print Server.
