This article describes the installation and usage of the Open Source PDF Creator print driver to print from any PC application to a PDF or TIFF file. This PDF driver can be used to print PDF's for importing into WebDocs iSeries or Windows editions.

Instructions for Using the PDF Creator Printer Driver
After the PDF Creator print driver has been installed, a new printer named PDFCreator will be available to all windows applications for printing.
When a document is printed to the PDFCreator printer driver, the user will be prompted to enter a PDF file name. The document will get printed to the specified PDF file.
Naming PDF File for Automatic WebDocs Check-In
When you name your PDF files, you can use the following naming convention if the file will be checked into WebDocs via the WebDocs Batch Import process. Each keyword can be delimited by an underscore and corresponds to a WebDocs keyword.

Setting Advanced PDF Creator Options to Auto-Save PDF Files without Prompting
1.) Select Start/Run/PDFCreator/PDFCreator to start the PDF Creator program.
2.) Select Printer/Options to view the PDF Creator options screen.
3.) Click Auto-Save and enable the Use Auto-Save option. This option will tell PDFCreator to no longer prompt the user for a PDF file name. Files will get automatically named by the PDF creator printer driver.
4.) If desired, you can specify a PC output directory for auto created PDF files. Enable the Use this directory for auto-save option and then select a new output directory where PDF files will get created when a document is printed.
