To automatically start the Batch Report Server as a Windows NT Service, you will need to install the RJS Windows NT Service Launcher application into the Batch Report Server directory C:\WSPBCH32 and configure the settings for the NT Service. The RJS Windows NT Service Launcher can be installed by running SETUP.EXE from the RJSNT directory on the RJS Software Systems CD or by downloading the NT Service launcher from the RJS Software Systems Web Site.

After installing the RJS Windows NT Service Launcher into C:\WSPBCH32, you need to configure the settings by running the following command from the Start/Run command line: C:\WSPBCH32\RJSNT.EXE -SETUP

When the NT Service Launcher screen is displayed, enter the following values for the Batch Report Server NT Service:

Service Name: BatchReportServer (Make sure there are no blank spaces in the service name.)

Service Display Name: Batch Report Server

Executable to Launch: C:\WSPBCH32\WSPBCH32.EXE

Command Lines Parms: START

Click the "Register Service" button to register the NT Service.

Click the "UnRegister Service" button to unregister the NT Service.

The RJS NT Service Launcher application settings are stored in the C:\WSPBCH32 directory in a file named: NTSERVIC.INI

Note: The NT Service is initially installed for Manual Startup, so you will need to change the Startup setting in the NT Service Manager so the service will start automatically.

Note: Before placing a new NT service in production, test the service by starting the service manually to make sure it starts correctly.
