Troubleshooting Sending Faxes 1.) If you are not able to fax from a Windows PC, you need to insure that your AS/400 - iSeries user ID's and passwords match the user ID's and passwords of each Windows user. This is a Windows security limitation.

To test if you have adequate Windows security access to the Fax/400 printer on the iSeries, go to your Windows PC and select Start/Run and type \\1.1.1.1 and click OK. (Substitute your AS/400 IP address where we used 1.1.1.1)

If a Windows Explorer window pops up and you see fax queue QFQFS4PRTD in the Explorer window, you should be ready to fax. If you receive a user ID and password pop-up dialog, you may need to enter your iSeries user ID and password to connect to the Windows share. After you enter your user ID and password, you should see the QFQFS4PRTD fax queue in the Explorer window.
