Is bolding and underlining supported via the RTF Report Converter

Problem:

Customer wants to capture bolding and underlining using the RTF Converter. What should they do ?

Solution:

Since the RTF Report Converter utilizes the CPYSPLF command, bolding, underlining or font attributes are not supported with the converter. This is a limitation imposed by the AS/400 CPYSPLF command.

Option: Customer could utilize the RJS WinSpool Electronic Forms product to jazz up the look of existing reports with fonts and logos and convert them to PDF format for delivery.

Option: If the documents are mail merge or form letter types of documents, the RJS iSeries Office Integrator could be used to merge AS/00 data with a Word template to create word documents that can contain underlining and bold fonts as part of the MS Word template.

Option: Customer would work with RJS to come up with a custom way to allow report bolding and underlining to be carried from the AS/400 to the RTF Report Converter. However this option would require custom coding from RJS as well as changes to the customer report. Please contact RJS to discuss this option if desired.
