Problem:

The error had supposedly started happening after the customer had replaced a disk on their MS Exchange Server. It doesn't sound like the problem was related to the disk crash. It sounds more like something was changed in the Email Report Server PC settings.

Solution:

1.) Started Email Report Server program and went to the File/Settings screen.

2.) Unchecked the "Use Automatic Email User ID/Password" setting and saved the settings. This will cause the MS Exchange login dialog to pop up automatically when the Email Report Server Start button is pressed.

3.) Started the Email Report Server process and the MS Exchange/Outlook profile selection box came up and said: "there was an invalid profile selected, please choose a correct profile". The user selected the correct profile settings and the Email Report Server started working normally. Problem almost solved.

4.) I told them they could do the following to get back to normal:

-Recheck the "Use Automatic Email User ID/Password" setting. -Enter the correct MS Exchange profile name in the "MAPI/VIM32 User ID" field. Note: The password is not required, only the MS Exchange profile name.

The error is caused when a MS Exchange users mailbox reaches its size limit. With MS Exchange, mailbox size limits can be enacted.

When the error starts occurring the MS Exchange mail system will start sending messages to the "In" box notifying the user that the mailbox size limit has been exceeded.

Remove all messages from the "Sent" mail box in MS Exchange or ask the MS Exchange administrator to raise the MS Exchange mailbox size limit. Exchange also has setting which can be used to NOT save mail messages which have been sent. It's usually a good idea to remove messages from the "Sent" mail box periodically to make sure this problem doesn't reoccur.
