MS Exchange/Outlook User getting the following error when sending emails: "a program is automatically trying to send an email on your behalf, do you want to allow this

Problem:

Apparently this problem can happen if the user is running MS Exchange and Outlook 98 or Outlook 2000 with the security updates.

Solution:

All of the options listed below are potential solutions.

1.) Search Deja News newsgroup archives (http://www.deja.com) for "outlook" and "behalf".

2.) Use Outlook Express instead of MS Outlook to send all outgoing email messages. This still uses the default MAPI email interface within the Email Report Server.

3.) Use the RJS SMTP option within the Email Report Server to send all messages via the RJS SMTP API.
