NTSERR: Error opening database AS400RPT.NSF

Problem:

"NTSERR: Error opening database AS400RPT.NSF" when attempting to add a document to the AS/400 Report Manager Database via the Domino Report Server/400 product.

Solution:

If the customer has installed a Domino for AS/400 Server, but did not create an AS/400 host table entry, they need to use the following menu to create a host table entry for their Domino Server IP address. GO CFGTCP, Option 10.

After creating the host table entry they should be able to test the host entry by using the AS/400 "PING" command. If the Domino Server name can be pinged, the Domino Report Server/400 software should now work.

Example:

A customer created a Domino Server named "DOMSVR1" and no host entry was created.

When they ping DOMSVR1 at the AS/400 command line, they receive the following error: "No response from host within 1 seconds for connection verification 1."

After adding the host table entry(GO CFGTCP, option 10), they ping DOMSVR1 at the AS/400 command line, and it works successfully:: "PING reply 1 from DOMSVR1 took 62 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 128."
