Installing RJS PDF & TIFF Conversion Utilities

Please follow these instructions carefully to install RJS PDF & TIFF Conversion Utilities. If you experience any difficulties, you can refer to RJS PDF & TIFF Conversion Utilities's Troubleshooting page or contact Technical Support.
NOTE: If you are installing on Windows Server 2003 please read these instructions first.
Before You Install
Installation
Step 0: Checking for required programs
Java Developer Kit v1.4
To confirm that the Java Developer Kit V1.4 is installed:
- Sign on to the System i as a security officer.
- Type GO LICPGM then press Enter. The Work With Licensed Programs screen displays.
- Type 10 then press Enter. The first page of the Display Installed Licensed Programs screen displays.
- Scroll down by pressing Page Down until you find one of the following entries:
5722JV1 *INSTALLED Java Developer Kit 1.4 (or higher).
5722JV1 *COMPATIBLE Java Developer Kit 1.4 (or higher).
If you do not find one of the above entries, the Java Developer Kit V1.4 is not installed on your system. Find the Java Developer Kit V1.4 on IBM's software disks and install it before continuing.
OS/400 PASE
To determine if the OS/400 PASE is installed:
- Sign on to the System i as a security officer.
- Type GO LICPGM then press Enter. The Work With Licensed Programs screen displays
- Type 10 then press Enter. The Display Installed Licensed Programs screen displays.
- Scroll down the options by pressing Page Down until you find one of the following entries:
5722SS1 *INSTALLED OS/400 - Portable App Solutions Environment.
5722SS1 *COMPATIBLE OS/400 - Portable App Solutions Environment.
If you do not find one of the above entries, the OS/400 PASE is not installed on your system. Find the OS/400 PASE on IBM's software disks and install it before continuing.
Step 1: Download
Download RJS PDF & TIFF Conversion Utilities library from RJS.
Username = ********* Password = ***********
Step 2: Extract Files
You will be presented with the WinZip Self-Extractor message. Unzip the files to the default location.
Step 3: Confirm Extracted Files
Once the files have been extracted you will receive a message box noting the success.
Click OK.
Step 4: Welcome Message
You will be presented with the RJS FTP Install message.
Click OK.
Step 5: Begin Install
The RJS FTP Library Install program starts. You will be presented with the main dialog box.
Enter the selected System i IP address or DNS name in the AS/400 Host IP Address edit box.
Enter a valid System i security officer user ID and password in the appropriate edit boxes.
Now take each numbered step, waiting until the previous step is finished before continuing.

RJS PDF & TIFF Conversion Utilities should now be installed. Please run the initial setup prior to running the commands.
Step 6: Initial Setup
License
The following commands will not run from an unlicensed library. Please contact Technical Support for temporary or permanent license keys.
Restore the RJSPDFTIFF Java objects
Restore the Pase objects by running the following commands.
ADDLIBLE RJSPDFTIFF RSTGSOBJ LIB(RJSPDFTIFF) PDTJAVAEN
| | If you receive a CPF3823 or CPF383E during the restoration of Java objects, it can be safely ignored |
Install Ghostscript
ADDLIBLE RJSPDFTIFF INSGSOBJ
Run the following commands to make sure the object installed correctly:
WRKLNK OBJ('/qopensys/usr/local/share/ghostscript/8.54')
You should see the 8.54 directory in the list. If not, then the install failed. Check the joblog for possible errors or you will probably need to contact RJS for assistance.
WRKLNK OBJ('/rjspase/rjspdftiff')
You should see the rjspdftiff directory in the list. Check the joblog for possible errors or you will probably need to contact RJS for assistance.
If the above items install as expected, then you are ready to start using the commands.
