Problem:

The customer is using the WinSpool Electronic Forms and the Reform spooler and the spooler is not processing reports even though the reports are being spooled up into the C:\WSPEFORM\SPOOLER directory.

The Reform spooler has also been started and appears to be running.

Solution:

The Reform spooler looks for an electronic form definition that matches each AS/400 spool file name when a report is downloaded. If a form definition is not found, the Reform spooler attempts to use the default form called: default.fom. If the default.fom form file is not found and there is no form defined for the selected spool file, the Reform spooler cannot process the report file and will appear to stop processing all files, thus causing report files to stack up in the spooler directory.

Make sure there is a default form definition file called: default.fom in the C:\WSPEFORM\FORMS directory and the spooler should work without a problem. After creating a default.fom file, make sure to exit and restart the Reform spooler program.

    • Note: As a rule of thumb, each report that will be processed through the electronic forms process should have a corresponding form definition.
