Problem:

In some cases customers are having problems getting AFP overlays to line up correctly when they are converted with the AFP to TIFF or AFP to PDF converters. When the reports print from the AS/400 to an HP printer using the *HP4 (HP Laserjet 4 compatible) host print transform settings, the overlays and reports print correctly, but the overlay alignment is off when converted to TIFF or PDF. What can be done to fix this ?

Solution:

Install V1.34 or later of the Native RJS Report Converter Library (RJSCONVERT) and run the following command changes to tell the RJS converters to use the customized *HP4 compatible workstation customization object provided by RJS.

Changing the setting for the AFP to PDF Report Converter

CHGCMDDFT CMD(RJSCONVERT/CPYAFPPDF) NEWDFT('WSCSTNAME(RJSTIFFHP4)')
CHGCMDDFT CMD(RJSCONVERT/CPYAFPPDF) NEWDFT('WSCSTLIB(RJSCONVERT)')

Changing the setting for the AFP to TIFF Report Converter

CHGCMDDFT CMD(RJSCONVERT/CPYAFPTIF) NEWDFT('WSCSTNAME(RJSTIFFHP4)')
CHGCMDDFT CMD(RJSCONVERT/CPYAFPTIF) NEWDFT('WSCSTLIB(RJSCONVERT)')
