Installing SMTP/400 Email Send API

Please follow these instructions carefully to install SMTP/400 Email Send API. If you experience any difficulties, you can refer to SMTP/400 Email Send API's Troubleshooting page or contact Technical Support.

NOTE: If you are installing on Windows Server 2003 please read these instructions first.

There are no software products from RJS that must be installed first prior to the install. There are no software products from RJS that must be present in order for this product to work as designed. There is no upgrade necessary after installation. There are no optional software products for this application.

Installation

These instructions install version 1.62 of SMTP/400 Email Send API

Step 1: Download

Download SMTP/400 Email Send API from RJS.

Username = *********
Password = ***********

Step 2: Install

Use FTP Library Installation to install SMTP/400 Email Send API library (RJSSMTP) onto the System i.

Click Unzip

Unzip the file to the default location.

FTP Install

Enter your System i IP Address, username and password.

Take each numbered step, waiting until the previous step is finished before continuing.

You will see an Error 550. This is normal behavior. If you see any additional errors please contact Technical Support.

Step 3: License

If necessary, enter new license codes.

Step 4: Finish

SMTP/400 Email Send API should now be completely installed.
