Problem:
The user is getting error 22218 and then 22213 each time a report is emailed. Once the errors start occurring the only way to resolve the problem is to exit and restart the Email Report Server software. The PC is running Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6A. They also run MS Outlook on the same PC which is connecting to a Netscape SMTP mail server. Outlook is left running while the Email Report Server is running.
Solution:
It could be that TCP/IP under Window NT is running out of available ports after a period of processing. This is a potential TCP/IP stack issue with Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT. The customer may want to plan a system re-boot periodically.
An alternative resolution would be to turn off the "Use SMTP Email Server" option in the Email Report Server and let the MS Outlook or Outlook Express Email Client handle all outgoing mail via the MAPI email API. MS Outlook/Outlook Express can then be configured to send the emails via SMTP. This option would ensure there is only 1 SMTP mail client running - MS Outlook or Outlook Express.
