Sending a copy of a report to RJS Software Systems

If you are having problems with the AS/400 Report Splitter, you can send us a copy of the problem report and the Report Distribution Table entries by performing the following steps:

1. Use the following AS/400 command to create a temporary work file on the AS/400 to hold the report: CRTPF FILE(QGPL/SPOOL) RCDLEN(198)

2. Use the CPYSPLF command to copy the selected report to the file created in the previous step. Note: Make sure to use the *FCFC Control character option to retain the ANSI print control characters in the report file.

3. Download the report file to the PC using your favorite AS/400 to PC file transfer program. Name the PC file SPOOL.TXT Note: Use the ASCII Text pc output type to create a standard text PC output file.

4. Download the Report Distribution Table file from the AS/400 Report Splitter library using your favorite AS/400 to PC file transfer program. The AS/400 file name is RSPL00 and it can be found in library RPTSPLIT30. Name the PC file RSPL00.TXT . Note: Use the BASIC sequential pc output type to create a comma delimited PC output file.
