Problem:

In some cases customers are having problems getting AFP overlays to line up correctly when they are converted with the AFP to TIFF or AFP to PDF converters. When the reports print from the AS/400 to an HP printer using the *HP4 (HP Laserjet 4 compatible) host print transform settings, the overlays and reports print correctly, but the overlay alignment is off when converted to TIFF or PDF. What can be done to fix this?

Solution:

Install V1.34 or later of the Native RJS Report Converter Library (RJSCONVERT) and run the following command changes to tell the remote output queue or AS/400 printer device to use the RJSHP4 host print transform *HP4 compatible workstation customization object provided by RJS.

This Host Print Transform object sets the top, left, bottom and right margins to zero, thus making the *HP4 printing exactly the same as the TIFF host print transform which does not recognize page margins.
