Store the User ID/Password for WinSpool
From Support
If a customer wants to use the WinSpool 98 software with TCP/IP connectivity without entering an AS/400 user ID and password each time, they can do the following steps, however it is not generally recommended by RJS Software Systems to store the user ID and password in the INI file because there is a risk that someone could find out the settings information:
1. Install WinSpool 98 V3.0.10 or above on the user PC.
2. Enter the following information in the WINSPL98.INI file under the [Settings] section:
[Settings]
UID=JOE (or whatever your user ID is) PWD=PASSWORD (or whatever your password is)
NOTE: These entries also are not encrypted, so be aware of this when this option is used.
