Problem:

Using Courier Linux Mail Server and getting 00020 error after sending a report with MAILSPLF.

Solution:

In the Courier config files (ESMTPD file). Change the settings for STARTTLS. Turn off STARTTLS. After a connection, the Courier mail server was sending back 2 packets instead of 1, thus causing confusion to the MAILSPLF command.
