Using WinSpool/400 Batch Report Server V2.5 and Lotus Notes Report Server
From Support
In order to use the WinSpool/400 Batch Report Server and Lotus Notes Report Server along with Reader fields, the following steps must be completed:
The reader fields can be used to set up document-level security. The Domino Field Groups can be used to extract information from a report and place into a specified Domino document field.
Installing WinSpool/400 Batch Report Server 2.5 and Lotus Notes Report Server V2.0
1.) Download and install the WinSpool/400 Batch Report Server Installation (V2.5.1 or above) from the RJS Web Site. http://www.rjssoft.com/FILES/rjsbch32-25.exe Password: ARCHIVE99
2.) Download and install the WinSpool/400 Lotus Notes Report Server Installation (V2.0.0 or above) from the RJS Web Site. http://www.rjssoft.com/FILES/rjsnts2.exe Password: NOTES99
3.) Start the Batch Report Server and enable the following settings:
4.) Enable the following settings on the "File/Setting/Work Files" tab: -Enable user defined notes fields
Setting User Defined Domino Data Fields
1.) Use the "Table Entry/Edit Domino Data Fields" option to enter Domino Field Extraction information. You can also move a hard coded value to a field instead of extracting data if this makes sense.
Setting Domino Reader Fields 1.) Use the "Table Entry/Edit Domino Reader Fields" option to enter Domino reader information. Reader information allows you to set the ACL list within a database to only allow report access by certain users.
Note: We recommend NOT using reader field support wherever possible because it adds an unnecessary level of overhead and security risk. We typically recommend breaking out secured documents into multiple databases instead of leaving them in the same database because it adds an extra level of security to the documents. With Reader fields there is always the potential of setting document security info incorrectly by coding the Reader fields incorrectly, thus potentially exposing reports to unwanted eyes. By using Database level security instead, unwanted users can't even open the selected database. This scenario potentially results in more databases being created, but database level security is much more secure than Reader level security.
Capturing Reader Field and Domino Data Field Info along with a new Report 1.) In the "Edit Output Directory List" screen there are 2 new fields:
Domino Data Field Group - This associates the selected Domino Data Field Criteria with a selected report. Domino Reader Field Group - This associates the selected Domino Reader Field Criteria with a selected report.
When a new report document gets created in Notes, it should now get a Reader or Domino Data Field group set with it.
