When running setup, install the Sun Java SDK, install into the following subdirectory: c:\j2sdk1.4.2_07

Note: The sun Java SDK can also be downloaded directly from the RJS web site if absolutely necessary. However since the download size is 51mb downloading from the SUN site above will be faster for most customers. http://downloads.rjssoftware.com/files/sun/j2sdk-1_4_2_07-windows-i586-p.exe

Install Apache Tomcat 5.0.28 Java Application and Web Server on PC

Install: Apache Tomcat 5.0.28

The installation creates a program group named: WebSpool iSeries Spool File Access

WebSpool Program Group Options Available:

  1. Browse WebSpool Log - Displays the WebSpool error log C:\RJSTEMP\WEBSPOOLOG.TXT

Note: Open the attached file: webwindows.xml for an example of the Windows based Apache settings for WEB.XML

  • Monitor Tomcat - This option launches the Apache Tomcat monitor program which can be used to start/stop the Tomcat web application server.
  • WebSpool Login - This is a URL that launches the WebSpool login on the server. When logging in from another PC, this value should contain the actual IP address of the Tomcat server PC instead of localhost. URL format: http://localhost:8080/webspool/index.jsp
