Problem:
When using the Microsoft IIS Web Server (Internet Information Server), why will the Web Report Server not recognize files stored on the AS/400 that are accessed via NetServer Drive Shares ?
Solution:
There is a bug in the AS/400 NetServer or in IIS that prevents Batch Report Server Settings databases (WSPBCH32.MDB) or (WSPINDEX.MDB) or report files from being stored on the AS/400 NetServer drives if IIS is being used as the Web Server.
There are 2 available workarounds: 1. Use the Apache Web Server when AS/400 report files will be stored on the AS/400 and accessed via the AS/400 NetServer drive sharing. The Apache Server works just fine when accessing files stored on the AS/400 NetServer drive shares. You can still use IIS as the main web server, but you will need to create web links to the PC running the Apache Web Server software and the RJS Web Report Server.
Note: If you want to run IIS and Apache on the same PC, just make sure that they use different TCP/IP ports so the web servers don't conflict with each other for the default port 80.
2. Store all Web Report Server settings and report files on a Windows NT Data Drive instead of storing them on the AS/400. Then IIS can continue to be used with the Web Report Server.
