WinSpool/400 Email Report Server appears to lock up when sending electronic forms with WinSpool/400 Electronic Forms

Problem:

The user got a virus on their PC and the Reform spooler software started locking up when sending emails via the Email Report Server.

Solution:

1.) Stop and exit the Reform Spooler Program.

2.) Stop and Exit WinSpool/400 Email Report Server.

3.) Clear all report text files from the C:\WSPEFORM\SPOOLER directory.

4.) Delete the C:\WSPEFORM\REFORM.INI file.

5.) Start the Reform Spooler Program. Go to the "File/Setup" screen and uncheck the "Prompt for Printer" Dialog box.

    • Note: In this situation we also ended up uninstalling and reinstalling their printer drivers as well as the Adobe Acrobat software. Some of these files must have been corrupted by the virus.
